Our school campus was filled jolly laughter today as we celebrated Hat Day today with our playgroup (Early Child Care) students. Alongwith the little ones, the teachers also wore different styles of hats. What was really interesting was the cap selling counter that was set up, which each and every child visited and enjoyed a lot. The event concluded with the story, ‘The Monkey and the Cap Seller’ story, which was enacted by students and the teachers.

Recitation Activity by Junior K.G. Students
Poems have multifarious benefits for children. To enhance their language skills in a pleasing manner, our Junior K.G students were given an opportunity to participate in a recitation activity. It was a sheer delight to witness the students reciting their favourite poems with appropriate expressions and ideal props. Most of the poems recited by the little ones conveyed important social messages eloquently. This recitation activity helped in developing confidence in the students and stimulated their interest to learn more new poems.
Storytelling Activity by Senior K.G. Students
Every child loves listening to stories and also, they get super excited to narrate their version of stories too. To enhance the public speaking skills of our students through storytelling, our Senior K.G. students were encouraged to narrate short stories with suitable props. Students thoroughly enjoyed this activity and were very eager to share the moral of their stories with their friends and teachers.
Water Cycle Activity by Senior K.G. Students
Water cycle is an important concept for children to know about. Once children understand the whole process of evaporation, condensation and precipitation, they are able to corelate the same with natural phenomenon like rainfall. In one of the recent-most class activities, students of senior KG explained the entire process of rainfall, using the appropriate jargons. Our students not only enjoyed this water cycle activity but it also helped them understand that water is earth’s natural resource, which must not be misused.
Nursery Students Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi
Inspite of the inclement weather conditions, our nursery students celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great pomp and gaiety. They began the celebrations after doing the ‘sthapna’ of an eco-friendly Ganpati. With eco-friendly Ganesha, it was instilled in the students how idols made of POP ( plaster of paris) may pollute the environment. With full gusto, the little ones danced, delivered speeches and chanted shlokas. It was a fun event in school enjoyed by all.
Support Staff Day observed at Satellite School For Children
The importance of support staff in our school can’t be overlooked. They are the ones toiling day and night towards keeping our school building clean and hygienic and ensuring safety and security at all times. To make our preschoolers understand about their hard work and contribution towards the upkeep of our school, a special assembly was organized for students of Junior KG and Senior KG. The purpose of this assembly was to encourage our tiny tots to respect our staff member and acknowledge them. When such traits are instilled at a young age, students will automatically grow as humble and compassionate individuals.
Toy Trolley Activities for Playgroup (Early Child Care) Students
Playway method is primarily adopted for our playgroup (Early Child Care) children through which our educators work towards introducing the little ones to newer concepts. Books, smartboards, flashcards, roleplays etc. are used to retain their interest. Among various activities related to ‘red’ colour, the tiny tots enjoyed the ‘toy trolley’ activity immensely. They used their trolley and picked only the red toys among several others. This little dramatization was not only fun but also enhanced their confidence, visual and speaking skills.
Understanding Child Behaviour – A Workshop for Parents
Parents are often found helpless when it comes to dealing with children with behavioural problems. Owing to such burgeoning issues, a special session was arranged for the parents of our Playgroup (Early Child Care) and Nursery students. The awareness programme was conducted by our school counsellor, Dr. Anjana Dongre, who spoke at length about temper tantrums, separation anxiety, stuttering, bed wetting etc. She delved deeper citing appropriate examples and situations, helping the parents understand the root causes of such issues and the common symptoms. During the workshop, she also guided the parents when to seek help. The session received a positive feedback from the attendees as our counsellor listened to each and every parent concern and answered to their satisfaction.
Field trip to Sundervan
Our playgroup (Early Child Care) students were recently taken to Sundervan. Their excitement knew no bounds as they spotted bats, snakes, crocodiles, rabbits tortoise, ducks, turkey etc. They could identify the animals, birds and species and sang relevant rhymes, expressing their sheer joy. The little ones observed each of the existent species and absorbed from their surroundings. Such field trips are both enjoyable and educational where the social and interpersonal skills of little students are greatly enhanced.
Hand Printing Activity
Our Junior KG students enjoyed hand-printing activity at school today. Under the supervision of their respective teachers, the students dipped their hands in various colourful paint and imprinted their palms on a chart paper. The hand prints were then cut in different shapes of trees, butterflies etc. The little ones also helped their teachers in pasting their recent photos on the cut outs. The end picture formed depicted unity in class, indoctrinating the value of staying together. The day’s enjoyment continued as our teachers narrated stories with hand puppets to the students.
